Direct Debit and Credit/Debit Cards

The most cost effective way for you to make a gift into your Stewardship account is by Direct Debit.  Once this has been put in place we can collect the funds from your bank account for regular or one-off gifts.

 

Set up a new Direct Debit mandate

You can complete a Direct Debit Instruction online if you have not registered the bank account with Stewardship for a previous Direct Debit Instruction.

1. Select  Account Details  from the top menu bar.

2. Select  Bank Account details.

3. Click  Add new bank account.

4. Follow through the Paperless Direct Debit Instruction screens.

Once you have confirmed your bank details and finished all the screens you will be shown your bank details as recorded against that Direct Debit Instruction.Please note that the bank account that a Direct Debit comes from needs to be in the name of the Stewardship account holder (this can be a joint bank account).

The Direct Debit Instruction will take about a week to be processed through the banking system but you can use Direct Debit facility now to set up gifts to be taken from your bank account once it has been processed and approved

Note: If you have previously had a Direct Debit Instruction with Stewardship on the bank account you wish to add again please contact us and we will post or email a paper Direct Debit Instruction to be completed and returned.


Change my bank account details

To change the bank account from which you fund your gifts you will need to complete a new Direct Debit Instruction and then amend any regular gifts to use the new bank account. You can then remove the old bank account details if you no longer wish that held on record

1. Set up a new Direct Debit Instruction (see above).

2. Select Manage Regular Giving from the main menu bar.

3. Select change on the row with the old bank account number.

4. Change the From bank account to the new bank account number.

5. Click through the screens to Confirm the change.

6. Select Account Details from the main menu bar.

7. Select Bank Account details.

8. Click remove on the row with the old bank details.


Please note that the bank account that a Direct Debit comes from needs to be in the name of the Stewardship account holder (this can be a joint bank account).

 

Use a credit or debit card

When making one-off gifts into your Stewardship account you can use a credit or debit card.

Each time you make a gift into your account by card you will need to enter your card details.  The address we hold for you will automatically be inserted so please ensure that this is the address that is registered with your card or it may be rejected.  If the address is incorrect please change it before proceeding with your gift.  You can do this by going to ‘Account details’ and then selecting ‘Contact details’. 

Having entered your card details you will be asked to ‘authorise’ payment.  However, your card will not actually be debited until you click ‘Confirm’ on a subsequent screen.

We accept:  MasterCard, Visa, Visa Debit or Delta and Maestro.
